An NHS Doctor’s Lived Experience of Burnout during the First Wave of Covid-19

This article offers the lived experiences of an NHS doctor working on front line in English Trust during first wave Covid-19 pandemic. The overall aim is to offer a context-specific perspective employee experience burnout by drawing out interplay organisational and external/socio-political factors atypical time. narrative also highlights as yet unexplored pattern with active maintenance professional efficacy starting point which then interacts high levels work intensification prevalent NHS, leading coping mechanisms depersonalisation detachment. Existing research has predominantly focused how/why employees at level analysis, leaving gap literature how time contexts may impact burnout.
